Trip planning is well underway:

Bronze Level Adventurous Journey will include hiking and camping, and is usually done in late spring

  • For the practise journey , students will learn about the equipment ~ how to set it up and use it, orienteering, wilderness code of behaviour, and first aid.  There will be some hiking involved and a picnic lunch.
  • The adventure journey will be held at Larryland in Keene, in late May/early June.  More details to follow.

Silver Level Adventurous Journey

This year the Silver Level Adventure Journey will include 3 days of cycling, on bikes provided by a cycling/touring company.  The first day will be approximately 35 km, the second 45 and the third 55km (remember the experience is about pushing yourselves!!!)  Ms. Hutchison will put together a weekly training plan to get all participants to the point of being prepared for this.

This journey will be held May 11-13, throughout Prince Edward County.  Their roads are quite quiet in the week and have paved shoulders.  Students will camp at Sandbanks in the group camping area both nights.  There will be a practice journey to discuss bike safety, maintenance and first aid, and then a practice ride along the Trans Canada trail starting at Brealey Road.

Forms have been handed out by Ms. Hutchison.  Be sure to get them to her as soon as possible, to ensure the trip happens.

Gold Level:

  • students interested in achieving the Gold Level will be working to plan a trip with the PLD class
